  • Sunday College Meeting:  2:00-3:00 pm (in stands of the facility)

Eligibility:  7th-12th Grade athletes (Boys & Girls)
Max Registration:  50 athletes 

*Genai Kerr and other Olympians will not be present.
This camp is run by the Harvard University coaches. 

    Ted Minnis


    Ted Minnis
     
    Ted Minnis has been the Head Coach of Harvard Water Polo for the past eight years and is the winningest coach in Harvard Water Polo history for both the men’s and women’s programs.  The Harvard Men’s program qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2017.  Ted was recognized as the USA Water Polo National Distinguished Men's Coaching Award Winner in 2016.  Coach Minnis was named the CWPA Division 1 Women's Coach of the Year, the first such honor obtained by a Harvard women's water polo coach. In 2013, Coach Minnis was named the 2013 CWPA Division 1 Men’s Coach of the Year.  Minnis has competed and coached at the youth, club and high school level and before coming to Harvard, Ted served as the interim director of athletics, aquatics director and head water polo and swim coach as the Castilleja School in Palo Alto, Calif.  Additionally, Minnis is a veteran coach at the Stanford Water Polo Club where he won two Junior Olympic bronze medals, a U.S. Club Championship and finished among the top 10 at various national tournaments numerous times. Minnis served as the head coach for the Olympic Development Program Pacific Zone for three years and in 2009 worked with the National Youth team staff.  In 2007, Minnis was named the USA Water Polo National Development Coach of the Year and in 2005 and 2007 was a Positive Coaching Alliance finalist for coach of the year.
     
    Cassie Churnside
    Cassie Churnside Harvard Water Polo Coach
    Cassie Churnside joined the Harvard's men's and women's water polo coaching staff in June 2014 and has helped guide the program through its most successful years ever.  Churnside is an Orange, Calif., native and helped lead the Stanford Cardinal to the 2011 and 2012 NCAA titles.  Churnside was captain her senior year and graduated from Stanford in 2012 with a bachelor of arts in communication.  Prior to attending Stanford, Cassie played at Villa Park High School where she captained the water polo team her junior and senior years, was a four time All American, finished her time at Villa Park as the all time leading goal scorer in program history, and was the Century League MVP three times.  Cassie was also on the USA Water Polo Women’s Youth National team from 2005-2007 and played club water for SET where she placed in the top five multiple times at various national championships including the the National Junior Olympics, US Open Nationals, and the USA Water Polo Top 40 Festival.

    Designed by the top coaches and athletes in the country, the camp provides in-water instruction to make an immediate impact on an athlete’s game. Young athletes will have the opportunity to learn first hand how Olympic Athletes train, meet their nutritional needs, and balance their lives.

     

    We want our campers to come home with experiences that enrich both the quality of their play and their life through a better understanding and greater appreciation for sport. They will  develope new techniques and a heightened level of self-confidence.

    5meter Water Polo Camps and Clinics provide the highest level of individualized coaching for aspiring water polo athletes. Whether you are learning the rules of water polo and how to eggbeater or preparing for college level competition, we have the best water polo camp for you. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed in groups with other players having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.

    Genai Kerr 5meter Water Polo Coach

     

    Genai Kerr is a USA Water Polo Olympian, coach, mentor, and true ambassador of the sport. Genai was a member of the United States Men's National Water Polo Team for 12 years and played in the 2004 Athens Olympics, 2003 & 2007 Pan American Gold Medal games, and multiple World Championships. He has coached at every level from Splashball to college and National Teams. He is a USAWP Sport Growth Manager, FINA Subject Expert, and consultant with a variety of countries.
